Ensuring Success
Articulating your design ideas
The first step of the design process is setting up an initial consultation with a designer to discuss your ideas. During your consultation, your designer will ask questions that will identify your desired design aesthetic. Your designer may ask you to share any magazine clippings, Pinterest boards, Houzz idea books, Instagram feeds that you have collected as inspiration.
Tools for effective communication
Establishing a cohesive plan that incorporates your design aesthetic with the needed function of the space up front is key. We recommend that you complete our Design and Style Assessment, which is one of the tools we use to help us understand how you function in your space now, and how you would like to use the new space.
While we recommend that you allocate approximately 30 minutes to complete The Design and Style Assessment, we understand that your busy lifestyle may not allow time to do so. If the online assessment is not your communication style, no worries, we are flexible. Set up your in-person consultation instead.
Good things take time
From consultation to installation day, we ask that you have patience with the process. The industry as a whole is still experiencing the effects of covid on the global supply chain. Lead times and product availability are a bit harder to keep buttoned-up. We are seeing delays ranging from 2 months to 9 months in some categories.
Though there is a lot out of our control with these challenges, please be assured that we are using every tool available to us to move things along as quickly as possible.
We are diligent as we source products and hire tradespeople. We have enhanced our order tracking and vendor communications processes to be able to stay up to date, so that we can keep our clients informed every step of the way.
We ask for your patience as we navigate these challenges together, knowing that the result will be well worth it.

Financial conversation
We also ask that you be open to the very important discussion about the financial investment for your project. We know that it is very difficult as a client to know what your investment should be, but we ask that you give some thought to what that financial range might be for you, and be open to sharing that information with us.
We are very diligent in guiding you through what a reasonable investment might be for your project based on your lifestyle needs, functional needs, preferred design aesthetic, and other factors that might affect your investment amount.
We want to manage your expectations when it comes to this very important aspect of your project, and the financial conversation is a very important part of the process. Because cost ranges are so vast within the industry, it is very difficult to know exactly what your investment amount is before we actually begin the process of designing, sourcing, and acquiring quotes.
While we cannot know what your actual investment will be, we can use historical data from past projects, plus other factors to help you identify a broad range to start.

Not in love with something, tell us
We have an appreciation for all design aesthetics, styles, colors, motifs, and objects.
We see beauty and potential in things that some people may not, therefore if we propose an idea or a product that you don't care for, please let us know. I promise you will not hurt our feelings.
We may ask some follow-up questions as to what you don't love about it, to make sure that we are focused on the big picture.
If the idea or product is an integral part of the design and function, we may have to work harder to help you visualize it. In most cases, we are happy to make a revision.
Don't hesitate to reach out
We try our best during the process to keep you informed, with at least weekly updates, but if you have questions or concerns about any part of the process, we want you to feel comfortable asking and sharing.
We have an open-door policy and want to keep the line of communication open. Feel free to reach out with questions or feedback about your project.
We work hard to gain your trust and we don't take your concerns lightly. Being transparent in our policies and practices is part of our commitment to you.
Stepping out of the comfort zone
Another area that is important for a successful outcome of your project is to be open to new ideas.
You have dreamed up your perfect space, and you have shared your desires. Allow us to introduce you to new ideas, products, and recommendations for achieving a custom interior tailored to your needs.
We keep up to date on the latest in the world of interior design to bring you the best and most unique products. To ensure we are always at the forefront of technology and trends Ubiety attends furniture markets and industry events such as brand immersion tours and trade shows.
Have fun
Finally, we want you to relax and have fun! We will do all the heavy lifting and take care of the tiniest of detail so you don't have to. We strive to make achieving your perfect space a fun process for you.
